The owners of this river-access property were all-in on passive solar—but the views were to the north. To bring the outdoors in while staying true to their goals, we placed most windows on the north side, then sloped the ceiling to allow winter sun to pour in through a series of south-facing clerestory windows. The result? A bright, open living space with a strong connection to nature.
With no gas or electric at the road, we went fully electric. We brought in 320-amp service, powering a geothermal system, EV chargers, a heat pump water heater, and a 10kW solar array—bringing the home to net zero.
