In 2023, a landscape architect collaborated closely with clients in the Lake Country area of Waukesha County to bring their dream outdoor space to life. The clients requested a 20’ x 50’ pool, hot tub, fire pit, guest parking, play area for kids/dogs, and a grill station, with a budget of $400,000 to $500,000.
The project presented several challenges, notably selecting the ideal pool coping material. After careful research, the landscape architect chose a coping paver that seamlessly complemented both the upper terrace and pool deck. Additionally, the property’s significant elevation differences required a grand staircase made of sawn Lannon stone at the back and smaller steps in the front to ensure smooth transitions throughout the space.
Stormwater runoff was another concern, prompting the design of a functional washed stone infiltration trench that has been highly effective in managing drainage. The result was a stunning, functional landscape that not only enhanced the home’s aesthetic but also met all the client’s needs, creating an inviting outdoor environment for relaxation and entertainment.
