This smart home project, located in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, truly brings together the past and present.
The homeowners wanted the convenience of home automation but with a family-friendly feel complete with their refurbished family-heirloom farmhouse antiques. We created a centralized control system in the mechanical room, which allowed for a minimalistic design throughout the rest of the home.
Due to the home’s location, there was no internet when construction began. This did not present a problem as the smart lighting and shades systems we use operate through clear connect technology and are not Wi-Fi dependent. At the conclusion of the project, when internet was available, we added additional features including geofencing and voice control.
In total, this home utilizes over 85 smart devices. This includes a smart lighting system, automated shades, a smart electrical panel, smart televisions, thermostats, mirrors, security cameras, and a sound system. The clients also desired unique integrations including fans, fireplaces, and a hot tub disconnect. Each smart device works together to create a convenient, efficient, secure, and entertaining modern family heirloom.
